Director of Graphic Design

Job Status: Full Time
Responsibilities:
- Identify success factors and competencies for the graphic design team
- Define house and project-specific style guidelines
- Provide coaching and development for team members
- Establish a contracting model to provide flexibility during peak periods
- Recruit and oversee contract designers
- Manage quality processes and standards
- Consult directly with clients and project stakeholders
- Support sales and marketing with concepts for proposals and mock-ups
- Inspire creativity on the team and ensure continuous innovation
- Document production metrics and report on performance results
- Serve as a design lead for specified projects
- Allocate resources to meet the requests of project managers and other stakeholders
- Supervise a team of design professionals
- Evaluate the tools and equipment used by the design team
- Augment the skill set of the graphic design team
- Cross-train writers and other non-artists on basic design skills
Qualifications:
- Possess at least 5 years of leadership experience, preferably on projects developed for external clients
- Have experience in managing a team of art professionals
- Hold a college degree (preferably an advanced degree) in a relevant field
- Possess expert-level knowledge of relevant Adobe software (including Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) and other development tools to create animations, 3D models, and complex diagrams
